With the season near its end, the wrestling team finds itself set to match up with No. 12 ranked UW-Stevens Point (Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association poll) Friday at home.
After a slow start to the season due to a bulk of injuries, the ’Hawks have hit a hot streak and find themselves ranked No. 21 in the nation.
“It’s very important because it lets us get a look at Point,” junior Adam Latella said. “It’s going to play a huge role in the conference tournament.”
The team needs to do well in the conference tournament in order to qualify for the national championship. The ’Hawks hold a 1-2 record in conference, but are confident they can receive a bid.
“Our guys have been working hard, fighting for everything, because we know every match plays a role in the end of the year bidding,” Latella said.
