The softball team had a chance to win the WIAC Tournament on Sunday and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, but fell short.
Because it is a double-elimination tournament, the Warhawks needed one win over UW-River Falls but fell short twice.
The softball team capped off a very busy week with a three-game winning streak. It finished 6-2 in four double-headers played in five days.
Coach Brenda Volk said her team went through some highs and lows, but she was satisfied with the overall performance.
