There was an apparent steam pipe break in the University Center around 10 p.m. tonight, flooding parts of the building including the Down Under area.
According to an eyewitness, the pipe broke near the south side doors on the main level of the UC facing the Wyman Pedestrian Mall. Cleanup efforts closed the UC early, which is normally open until midnight on weekdays. It is still unknown whether the incident will affect the building’s hours for the remainder of the week.
