Seven votes decides WSG election

Nathan Perry and Lucas Tomachek won the Whitewater Student Government election by only 7 votes. The unofficial totals have Perry/Tomachek with 239 votes while Emmett/Ziolkowski received 232. Only 3.9 percent of the student body voted in the election.

Perry/Tomachek had 50.74 percent of the vote compared to the 49.2 percent of the Emmett/Ziolkowski slate.

WSG Elections Committee made a motion around 4 p.m. to approve the unofficial results. Whitewater Student Government senate will vote to approve the results on March 31 at 7 p.m..

Lucas Tomachek, 2014-2015 vice president for WSG commented on his recent win.

“I think that we tried really hard,” Tomachek said. “We did a lot of hard work at the end. A lot of people voted for what they know is best.”

Tomachek said that both parties would have done a great job win or lose.

“I’m really excited and I’m really excited for what’s to come,” Tomachek said.
