UPDATE, Oct. 26, 2016, 11:29 a.m.: City of Whitewater Police have identified the man found dead yesterday on the 900 block of Peck Street as Kenneth J. Myskewicz, age 43.

In a news release, the City of Police Department called the death a homicide and said that the suspect has been taken in custody.

Police Chief Lisa Otterbacher said there continues to be a lack of threat to the community.

“The investigation thus far leads us to believe that this was a targeted incident and not a random act.  We want to reiterate that we have no reason to believe that there is a threat to the public,” Police Chief Lisa Otterbacher said.

 

Whitewater City Police are investigating a death that occurred on the 900 Block of Peck Street in Whitewater. The police received a 911 call related to an unknown medical emergency at 2:22 a.m. today. The Whitewater Police Department is working in conjunction with the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office in a death investigation.

“Based on the preliminary information, we have no reason to believe that there is a threat to the general public at this time,” Police Chief Lisa Otterbacher said in a press release.

Police ask that the public avoid the 900 block of West Peck Street area while the investigation is ongoing.
