Ingredients:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup white chocolate chips
2 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. strawberries
Materials:Double boiler
(if you don’t have a double boiler, a deep saucepan and small pot will work)
rubber spatula
wire whisk
wax paper
- Use a double-boiler to melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips
If you don’t have a double-boiler:
- fill deep saucepan half full of water
- set smaller pot inside saucepan
- bring water to a rapid boil
- once water is boiling, turn heat to low
- place shortening into pot
- once melted, pour chocolate chips into pot
- allow chocolate chips to melt, stirring frequently
After chocolate melts:
- dip strawberries half into chocolate chips, place on wax paper
- repeat melting instructions for white chocolate chips
- dip tip of wire whisk into white chocolate and drizzle over chocolate-covered strawberries
