Tanker truck explodes at grain-handling facility

A tanker truck exploded at a grain-handling facility outside of Whitewater Friday afternoon just after 3 p.m.

Several buildings started on fire due to the explosion at Landmark Services Cooperative, located at 12743 E. Highway 59.

Whitewater Rescue Squad Cpt. Thomas Schopen said there were no fatalities or injuries from the explosion.

Schopen said crews are still on the scene and a cause of the explosion has not been determined.

The Royal Purple will work on gathering more information as it becomes available.
