On Dec. 12, a series of drug busts in and around the UW-Whitewater campus found multiple UW-Whitewater students involved in illegal drug activity according to UW-Whitewater campus police.

The drug busts were made in Wells East Hall, Cambridge Apartments and on South Scott Street.

Reports are currently being made and no names can be released yet.

UW-Whitewater Campus Police Chief Matt Kiederlen said most of the activity involved delivery and intent to sell marijuana.

Campus police, with the help of the Whitewater Police Department and other investigators have been involved in the on-going investigation since the beginning of the fall semester, according to Kiederlen.

Kiederlen said narcotics cases are typically long investigations. This is because investigators must follow-up on every lead possible in order to catch as many people involved, rather than arrest one person and alert others involved.

The Royal Purple will provide updates with any new information once it becomes available.
