I can’t believe my time here at UW-Whitewater is coming to a close. It seems like just last week I was sitting in the back of English 101 fighting to stay awake and listen to the lecture. People always told me to get the most out of college while it lasts because it flies by, but I didn’t believe it could be over so quickly. I am so thankful for all the great experiences I’ve had here and all of the people I’ve met along the way who have helped me grow.
Working for the Royal Purple has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had, and my only regret is that I didn’t get involved for all four years. When I began as graphics editor, I was intimidated that my work was being published for the whole campus to see, and I focused intently on nothing but getting my graphics edited and often didn’t say much to my fellow editors. But as I became more comfortable in my role, I began to open up and talk more. Now I’m a part of this group that is like family to me, and the Royal Purple office is my home away from home.
Fellow Royal Purple staff, you guys are incredible! Thank you for being supportive and sharing so many laughs and great times with me in the office, especially in the last semester after I started to open up more. You’ve truly made this office one of the best offices I will most likely ever work at through your jokes, jamming out to music and our infamous quote wall. I’m sad this is coming to an end but grateful for your friendships. I look forward to what the future brings everyone and will try my best to remain in touch with each and every one of you.
