Five reasons to consider being an entrepreneur

Nov. 19, 2014

By Rumasa Noor

Some people say you have to lose something in order to gain something else.

It is true in case of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs might be some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. It is the kind of job that requires 100 percent of a person’s time. Despite the hardships that come with owning a business, many who choose to pursue it love this career.

To recognize the fruits of entrepreneurial labors, Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated each year to acknowledge the developments made by entrepreneurs as well as encourage others to pursue it.

In spirit of this week, Royal Purple decided to go over a few reasons why one should consider being an entrepreneur.

1- Pursue your passion

One of the best things about entrepreneurship is it allows people to go after their dreams. If a person is passionate about something, they can start their own business, which would allow them to create capital and do what they love to do.

2- Do things your way

Some people find it difficult to follow someone else’s orders, which is why entrepreneurship is a perfect career choice for them. If they launch a startup, they won’t have to worry about following orders, they can do things their way, when and wherever they want.

3- Start with small business, turn it into a corporation

Many big corporations such as Walmart, started off small, and became much bigger than their owners originally expected. Taking right steps at the right time can help entrepreneurs go far.

4- Help the economy

Entrepreneurs do more for the economy than many people realize. It not only creates capital, but it also contributes to job growth, which ultimately benefits the economy.

5- Discover yourself

Entrepreneurship can also provide a way for a person to discover who they are and what their own abilities are. Some people are born leaders, but they may not realize it until they undertake something like entrepreneurship. It can help hone one’s inner leadership skills. But it doesn’t mean a person has to be a born leader to be an entrepreneur, they can also find a leader in them and polish their skills.
