The album begins with a relaxed song titled “A Big City Story.” Its infectious, clean, channeled guitars mixed with melodic vocals are the perfect combination to set a peaceful mood for the start of the album.
“A Big City Story” flows smoothly into the second track on the Ep titled “2:58.” This track also begins slowly with a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, but then introduces the use of drums. The lulling, calm feeling abruptly changes toward the end of the song as it suddenly becomes a full-band rock song. The music gives listeners the feeling as though the band has just splashed cold water in listeners’ faces to wake them up.
As “2:58” winds down, it slowly progresses into the third track on the album, “Design.” The mood returns to a calming one with tropical sounds, and rain can be heard in the background. The beat makes the listener feel as if he or she is continuously falling.
The next track on the Ep is yet another chill and soothing track titled “Prototype.” The track is unique as it only repeats the same couple of meaningful vocal lines throughout the entire song.
“Swallowing Pills Dry” is the heaviest song on the album. With its crushing rhythmic guitar riffs and catchy hard-hitting vocals, it gives the listener a sense of dark and mysterious paranoia.
The album ends with most emotional song, “Where a Mile is a Millimeter.” This track, the longest on the album, displays the guitarist’s talents, unique drum patterns, well-written lyrics and vocal abilities. The song is a continuous build-up to the final chorus, and it gives its listeners one more memorable and lasting impression of the album.
The Meteah Strike’s “Theses Colors Say Something Vibrant” is a classic among local music fans, and is a must-hear album for indie music listeners.
