Fall in love with Whitewater this season
August 29, 2021
There are plenty of reasons to get out and around town this fall with weekly events happening across the city. The Whitewater community will be hosting many events that are geared toward health, family, support, creativity and more this autumn season.
Bring your chairs and blankets! Family Fun Night 2021 will take place Sept. 7 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Cravath Lakefront Amphitheater with Mark Hayward performing. Next, Concert in the Park 2021 will be held Sept. 14 from 5:30 p.m. -7 p.m. at the Cravath Lakefront Amphitheater with the N.E.W. Piano Guys in Concert performing.
Get fit! The Discover Whitewater Series Run will host it’s 9th annual event Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The event includes a half marathon, half marathon relay and a .5 K. Sunday, Oct. 10 brings the return of Run for Trey from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., raising money to maintain Treyton’s Field of Dreams in Whitewater and fund four scholarships. Besides the run/walk, participants can enjoy a bounce house, face painting, raffle, and obstacle course for children. Dogs are welcome.
Tell a tale! It wouldn’t be October without Whitewater’s Spirit Tour Oct. 15 and 16, and the Storytelling Festival Oct 15-17. Heading into Halloween brings all the frightful fun that Whitewater residents enjoy each spooky season.
“This will be the 7th year that we have done a Spirit Tour, which tours the haunted, paranormal things in Whitewater. We had added bus tours, but we are doing a walking tour instead because of COVID-19,” said Whitewater Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Council Executive Director Kellie Carper. “For the Storytelling Festival we will be bringing big storytellers from around the region into Whitewater. There will be storytelling performances, art galleries to view, hands-on workshops and other activities like a story stroll.”
That’s just some of the fun that is happening in Whitewater this fall. These events can be a wonderful way to relax, make new memories and enjoy the autumn weather. All events are subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic or other reasons such as inclement weather.
