UW-Whitewater’s College of Arts and Communication senior Caitlyn Brockman and her classmates in ceramics are currently working on a project, creating beautifully constructed ceramic tiles. While completing these pieces, many of them are also working toward graduation and completing their senior shows.

The senior shows that students are currently working on consist of 10 pieces of their choice, which will be presented to represent the growth in their craft over the past few years at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Displaying their most meaningful works, the shows are guaranteed to impress.

“I’m preparing for my senior show by completing a few pieces to conclude my final 10 pieces that will be shown. I am going through my work from over the past four years, as well to find some of my best and most meaningful work,” said Brockman.

When asked about the format of drawing inspiration for projects, while taking into consideration the guidelines that are set, students say that they focus on dreams and learning from other artists. Whereas they have the ability to present any pieces they would like for their senior shows, there are specific project requirements in Ceramics 2 that the students then get to add their own personal touches to.

“I’m super excited to see what the final pieces in the senior exhibits and the ceramics class will look like,” said community art enthusiast Cayden Wittrock. “I think that each of the tiles will turn out looking creative and colorful.”
