A talented duo who has appeared on America’s Got Talent, Hulu and Peacock, Anthem and Aria, have brought back their show Psychic Soulmates for the Warhawks to experience after seven months.
Before the show started, Anthem came up to some of the audience members and asked them to write a song down on a piece of paper, fold it multiple times and drop it in a box. The stage had a projection of quotes from many iconic figures throughout history with a hypnotic background, but as the time drew closer to the show, the projection changed to images that seemed to be moving but were not.
Once the event started, Anthem and Aria appeared on stage in their dazzling outfits with their bright energy. Aria appeared with her vibrant pink hair styled half up, half down. She wore a dazzling pink dress that glistened every time. The sequins on her dress caught the light and matching ankle boot heels that gave off the same effect when the light hit them. Anthem appeared in a simple black tux with pink accents to complement Aria’s vibrant outfit. The accent pieces included a pink bow tie and pink socks that paired nicely with his black dress shoes.
Anthem and Aria seemed excited to be performing in warmer weather, since they mentioned how glad they were to not be traveling through the harsh winter of Wisconsin, as they are from Illinois. Periodically, Anthem was seen wiping the sweat off his forehead, as the weather was warmer and they were being illuminated by multiple stage lights.
For their first act, they played a game called Psychic Survivor with the audience. Everyone had to stand up and choose between the mind (putting their hand on their head), the heart (put their hand on their heart), or the stomach (putting their hand on their stomach). Once everyone had chosen one of the three options, Aria would pick one of the stage cues with the corresponding image until there was one person left. What left the audience speechless was the fact that Anthem had written down a description of the person who would be the last standing before the show’s performance, and he got it right.
The rest of the show was full of fun, interactive games in which Aria, blindfolded, guessed the serial number of a dollar bill. They got six random audience members to say the numbers on an old lottery ticket using playing cards. In between acts, they told their love story of how they met and shared memories, adding a comedic twist that sometimes took a PG-13 approach, making the audience laugh.
“The purpose of this show changes, but for tonight’s gig, we wanted to bring laughter to all of the audience members since we are living in a world that can easily bring us down,” Anthem said.
How Anthem and Aria found themselves performing their show stemmed from a childhood dream.
“We wanted to be performers on Broadway and in Las Vegas since we were young, and we feel that this show gives off that vibe to not only us but to the audience as well,” Anthem said.
The audience was treated to a show that not only gave off that vibe but also carried a memorable message.
“We want to bring up the fact that not everything is going to be OK, and life will throw obstacles at us, but we want our audience to know that everything is going to be OK,” Anthem said.
The UC is holding many more events throughout the semester, so make sure you don’t miss out on any other fun events that you can drag your friend or roommate to. You can also follow Anthem and Aria on social media platforms with the username AnthemAndAria.
