UW-Whitewater’s Student Activities and Involvement (SAI) and the American Red Cross teamed up to host a blood drive on campus November 21, 2024. The blood drive was held in the Esker Dining Hall in rooms 119 and 120. Students were welcomed to register beforehand or walk-in to donate.
Our photographer CJ registered to donate her blood for the first time. The process started with getting her finger pricked to determine her hemoglobin levels, then followed by a questionnaire regarding her medical history. She was then brought next door to start the donation process. After a little more than ten minutes, she was bandaged up and given some refreshments to help with the recovery. Once finished, she received a pair of socks for her donation.
