With creative expression being essential to a flourishing community, it only makes sense for there to be organizations tailored to aiding residents in expressing their creativity. The Whitewater Art Alliance (WAA), was created for precisely this reason.
The mission is simple: help to grow and support aspiring artists in the community by allowing them to attend the various studios and exhibits. These exhibits display a variety of pieces for visitors to view, including paintings and sculptures.
In addition to the free display of pieces, the galleries also encourage residents to submit their own pieces for display. By giving aspiring artists a simple way to submit their work, the WAA is working to create a future in which art is recognized for the inspiration and creativity it plants in the community.

With not only the knowledge, but the newfound inspiration residents can obtain by taking part in the many exhibitions and galleries the WAA offers, the creativity will come with it. Though once this creativity is planted, it can be hard for one to know how to begin working on how to achieve that goal.
On the Bias Designs is a local textile and quilt shop that specializes in the distribution and sale of fabrics and supplies used for sewing and crafting out of fabric. Providing these supplies is a crucial part in the creative process, blossoming creativity in the inspired. The shop also sells pieces that local artists have created.
Kim Jahnz, the owner of On the Bias Designs and an art quilter herself, elaborated on how big a role inspiration plays in the creative process.
“Having an outlet for all of my creative energy and getting to meet and interact with other artists was the perfect job,” Jahnz said.
She also described how meeting others and being inspired by them is among the best parts of owning such an establishment.

This displays how important this circle of inspiration truly is to those in the arts, and to organizations like the WAA. With professionals in the business shedding light on how important it is for even aspiring artists to inspire others, it is plain to see how this widespread web of inspiration provided by the WAA is so important to the community as a whole.
Jahnz went on to explain the Whitewater art scene from her own perspective.
“I feel it is alive and growing,” Jahnz said. “I see a lot of different and varied art forms and perspectives.”
This growing community and newfound art forms and perspectives are in no doubt aided by the work conducted by the WAA, to ensure the Whitewater community has a happy, healthy and growing community by inspiring the creativity of people new to art and veterans alike. Without the creativity of aspiring artists, future generations may begin to lose the plethora of inspiration the WAA provides.
