While plenty of students take for granted the food options on the campus of UW-Whitewater, some can struggle when it comes to their food needs.
A presentation in the University Center explained the challenges of “food deserts,” why they occur and how people can help.
Speakers from the Feeding America food bank to UW-W’s own University Health and Counseling Services came out to lecture students on the issues of these challenges, with the goal of making people more informed on others’ needs.
Students were intrigued with the information they learned about issues affecting the community of Whitewater and the university with many leaving more informed on these issues.
