As my time here at UW-W is coming to a close in the next month, I can look back at all that I learned these past two years. I transferred to the university for my junior year in fall of 2023 after receiving my Associates in the Arts at the College of Lake County. These past two years I majored in Public Relations and minored in English Literature. I have learned so much over these past two years, and not just in the classroom, but life in general. UW-Whitewater gave me so many new experiences that I will never forget, and will reminisce about for years. It gave me lifelong friends that I would not have ever known if I did not come here, and I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
I would also like to thank the amazing Communication Department and its wonderful instructors for teaching such valuable lessons that I will use in my future endeavors. Thank you for providing opportunities that I could not get anywhere else, and for being so inspiring that I look up to every single one of them.
I would also like to thank the Royal Purple. Even though I only worked on the staff this school year, I feel as though I learned quite a lot. I learned a lot about the different sides of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater through the events I attended and the new people I met. It taught me how to be a leader, and I will greatly miss the staff I have worked with. It was a pleasure to be part of the school’s history for a short while, but I will never forget the impact it has made on me. It is now time to say goodbye to this chapter of my life, and start a new one.
