Warhawk students,
Welcome back to campus! And for those who are just beginning their journey at UW-Whitewater, we are so glad you chose to become members of the Warhawk Family.
As you start the semester, I ask you to do three things that I believe will guide you on a path to academic and personal success.
Go to class — Consistently showing up and trying your best in class is the first step to reaching your goals. Be present. Actively engage in your courses. Ask questions. Remember that your instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your academic goals. Take advantage of their expertise — in class and during their office hours.
Get involved — Joining a student organization, participating in intramural sports, or applying for an on-campus job are all great ways to make important connections, meet friends and mentors, and deepen your sense of belonging at UW-Whitewater.
Ask for help — Whether you are looking for some additional academic support such as tutoring, or you are struggling with a mental health issue, we are here to help you navigate challenges. Look out for one another — and let’s commit to a culture of caring.
For those of you who are close to completing your degrees, I expect to see you on stage at commencement. You are Warhawk Bold and I look forward to seeing all you will accomplish in the future!
