“I knew it was my truck right away.”
Those are the words of sophomore Dustin Milz, who was the unlucky victim of a car fire early Friday morning.
Milz, who is studying graphic design and is from Kenosha, said he was in his dorm room in Wellers Hall when he saw his 1993 Ford F350 diesel truck on fire.
“I just kind of looked out my window and I saw a fire going on,” Milz said. “I knew that’s where I parked by so I ran outside and as soon as I got outside, I stopped and talked with the cops and asked what was going on.”
Campus Police Chief Matt Kiederlen said no suspicious activity is suspected.
“We’re under the impression that it was simply a mechanical defect of some sort,” Kiederlen said.
Milz agreed and said he didn’t think anyone would do that around here.
The truck was Milz’s source of transportation home every weekend. Milz said he is trying to sell his dirt bikes and other toys to save up for a new car.
