After defeating Virginia Wesleyan 76-62 Saturday night, the men’s basketball team will advance to the programs fourth Final Four appearance. The last time the Warhawks advanced the the Final Four was in 1989.
The Warhawks will face MIT this Friday in Salem, Virginia. Tipoff will be at 7 p.m. CST.
The Warhawks jumped out to a 15-3 lead to start the game and the Marlins could never catch up. The ‘Hawks led 36-26 at halftime.
The closest the Marlins got to the ‘Hawks was with 9:34 left in the game when they cut the deficit to 51-40.
Sophomore Cody Odegaard wsa the reason the ‘Hawks pulled away in the first half, scoring all of his 17 points in the half. He hit five three-pointers.
The second half was different. With the Marlins being threatened by the three-point shot, the ‘Hawks fed the ball to senior Chris Davis. Davis scored 23 of his game-high 33 points in the second half. He finished the game shooting 14-22.
