The UW-Whitewater men’s basketball team advanced to the national championship game after defeating the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 71-56 Friday night in Salem, Va.
The Warhawks will face Cabrini in the national championship game at 6 p.m. CST tomorrow.
The Warhawks went back-and-forth with the Engineers throughout the first half and went into the break with a 26-26 tie.
The second half was a bit different. Chris Davis scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the second half as UW-Whitewater pulled away. They went on a 14-0 run midway through the second half to increase its lead to 44-32.
The ’Hawks kept a double-digit lead throughout the rest of the game.
