Twelve lives were lost on July 20, 2012 in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shootings, one being the life of John Larimer, a UW-Whitewater graduate.
According to the UW-Whitewater Facebook page, Larimer was in the graduating class of 2008, double-majoring in political science and history. It was confirmed today by Navy officials that Larimer, a cryptologic technician third class, was among those killed in the attack, according to the denverpost.com.
A Crystal Lake, Ill. native, Larimer belonged to the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora. The youngest of five siblings, Larimer was just 27 years old when his life was taken.
