For the past three years, UW-Whitewater graduate Eric McLean has been documenting his battle with cancer through a series of YouTube video blogs. McLean, 28, who was diagnosed with Leukemia nearly 10 years ago, was recently told by doctors there was nothing left they could do.
In response, McLean bid his teary-eyed farewell in a heartbreaking final video, thanking his family, wife, friends and coworkers among others for the help and support he has received along the way.
In his final few words, McLean described his relentlessness in treatment options, which is all he could have done.
“My doctor says I won,” McLean said. “He says I won. I got to believe him … I fought to the end. I never said no.”
“With that, I’m going to say ‘bye’ for the very last time. I love you all. Thank you all, and I hope you all live long and happy lives.”
