Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed budget-repair bill has spawned protests and demonstrations almost everywhere in the state, including at the Capitol building, most UW System schools and even outside state legislators’ houses.
About 175 students, faculty and staff gathered at noon Thursday between McGraw and Heide Halls to protest Scott Walker’s proposed budget repair bill. Signs that read “Workers rights are human rights” and “Care about educators like they care for your child” were held high by several protestors.
The P.E.A.C.E. organization at UW-Whitewater has joined the efforts in displaying their dislike for Walker's proposed bill, as they will hold a gathering at 12:30 p.m. near the University Center's Fiskum Gallery.
