The women’s tennis team came back to Wisconsin with some success after defeating three of the four schools they played on their spring break trip in Georgia and South Carolina.
For the fifth straight year, the UW-Whitewater women’s tennis team captured the conference championship title, after sweeping all six singles flights and all three double flights.
The sweep marked only the third time this was done in WIAC history, with the ’Hawks doing it in 2008.

Last season, the women’s tennis team finished 22-6, was undefeated at home and in conference play, and made it to the second round of the NCAA regional tournament.
After a long break from play after the Midwest Invite April 9 until the AQ Tournament April 29, the team has had another layover period. The ’Hawks have had a 13-day layoff since participating in the tournament and junior Kalla Schaefer said it will be a key to stay sharp.
