The No. 21 ranked women’s volleyball team fell to No. 15 ranked University of Chicago 3-1 on Friday.
The loss was a disappointment due to high expectations set early on. The WIAC champions didn’t have their best game going for them from the start.
Last weekend the volleyball team hosted the third and final UW-Whitewater Invite and potentially the final home games for the seniors.
UW-Whitewater defeated No. 4 Wittenberg University and Wartburg College and lost to No. 10 Carthage College.
Sanchez, along with Alyssa Bauer and Kelli Trautmann, make up a trio of seniors on the volleyball team this season. Together they are the starting backcourt and have played together at UW-Whitewater all four years.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association No. 21 ranked Warhawk volleyball team (10-4) faced a trio of WIAC opponents last week to begin conference play.
The Warhawk women’s volleyball team is back. After last season’s disappointing early exit in the NCAA Division III Regionals to Wartburg College, the 20th ranked ‘Hawks (AVCA top 25 poll) have high hopes for the upcoming season.
