Baseball wins five of seven, offense clicking

After its spring training trip in Lake Myrtle, Fla., the Warhawk baseball team returns to campus with red-hot bats. The team went 5-2 in Florida from March 22-28, and won all four of its varsity reserve games in Florida, including a game against the Minnesota Twins’ single-A team.

Baseball team looks to fill void collectively

With the recent rush of warm weather over the last few weeks, it is evident that spring is upon us, which means that baseball, too, is right around the corner. The UW-Whitewater baseball team has begun its season. The team is 2-2 and leaves for a trip to Lake Myrtle, Fla., tomorrow. The team will play nine games in just six days and will return home March 31 for a game against Ripon College.

Although things didn’t go the way it wanted them to this last week, the baseball team is still in prime position to make a postseason run. The Warhawks will travel to UW-Stevens Point to face UW-Oshkosh at 10 a.m. in the opening game of the WIAC tournament.

Big week for ’Hawks as they look for No. 1 seed

No matter what you’re playing for, it’s always important to play your best ball at the end of the season. For the Warhawks, this next week will determine what seed they will get for the WIAC tournament. Whoever gets the No. 1 seed gets to host the tournament on May 13-14.
