With the chance of a potential first-place team finish this year at nationals, seniors Allison Nelson and Katie Hedstrom could have the perfect ending to their careers. “I don’t think there are words that can describe that feeling,” Nelson said. “It would be an amazing feeling to end my career with a good finish, not only for me as an individual but as a team.”

Weyer leaves no doubt

Justine Weyer’s place in the UW-Whitewater gymnastics record books is very secure. To cap off her storied career, Weyer captured her second vault national title March 27 in Springfield, Mass. As a result of her banner season, she has been selected as the 2009-10 Royal Purple Female Athlete of the Year.
