After both placing second in the North Central Quad Meet in Naperville, Ill., the men’s and women’s track and field teams will test their strength against stellar competition at the Squig Invitational Friday in Whitewater.
The men’s squad will face off against six opponents in the USTFCCCA top 25 poll, while the women will host two teams in the top 25.
Women’s head coach Josh Ireland said his team should give a strong performance, considering the way it performed in Naperville.
“We had a short squad, so considering that we definitely had some good performances,” Ireland said.
On the other hand, men’s head coach Mike Johnson said his squad used the North Central meet to prepare for what they were going to face this weekend.
“We were pretty happy with the turnout, we kind of used this week as a training week to prepare for next week’s Squig invite,” Johnson said.
