The League of Women Voters of the Whitewater Area is hosting a forum about how the proposed Wisconsin budget will likely affect Whitewater and the surrounding area from 7-9 p.m. May 4 at the Cravath Lake Community Center.
Featured speakers will include City Manager Kevin Brunner, Whitewater Unified School District Superintendent Suzanne Zentner, Chancellor Richard Telfer, State Senator Tim Cullen, Rep. Evan Wynn, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Association Julian Zelazny, Director of Health and Human Services for Walworth County Linda Seemeyer, Associate Professor of Political Science Jolly Emrey, and Vice President of the League of Women Voters Thomas Drucker.
The forum is designed to inform citizens about how the budget will likely impact city services, local schools and UW-Whitewater. Some speakers will address the possible impacts of the proposed budget on the agricultural sector and health-related programs and services.
Citizens from all political persuasions are invited to become better informed about some of the implications of the proposed budget on the local area, a release said.
