Campus mourns impact of Milwaukee shooting

Dear Campus Community,

As you have probably heard in the news, it has been reported that multiple people have been killed in a mass shooting that occurred at the Molson-Coors complex in Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon.

This is difficult news and our thoughts are with all of those affected by the shooting. We know it is likely that this horrific tragedy has or will have an impact on our Warhawk family, including alumni, friends and family members who work for or have connections to the company.

Please know that that there are counselors available. For students, please contact University Health and Counseling Services, located in the Ambrose Health Center. Appointments may be made by calling 262-472-1305. For faculty and staff, please call FEI, the Employee Assistance Program at 866-274-4723.

UW-Whitewater is consistently working to ensure your safety. To provide you the most up-to-date and current information if an emergency should occur, everyone is encouraged to opt-in to mobile push notifications via Informacast: https://www.uww.edu/icit/informacast-info

There is also an emergency text option:

-Students should update and/or correct their “mobile” phone field in WINS: http://www.uww.edu/registrar/wins/student-wins

-Faculty and staff must opt in to receive emergency alerts directly to their cell phones – you are NOT auto-enrolled. Go to https://my.uww.edu/AlertInfo to sign up for emergency text alerts.
