As an orientation leader, I vividly remember the many times Willie connected with new students and their families, making them smile and potentially easing their nerves as they embarked on this huge transition in life we call college. It’s had a huge impact on me, and I absolutely love how our mascot Willie never fails to brighten up the days of everyone around him.  Whether he’s cheering on the team at a football game, marching in a parade connecting with fans, or even helping to celebrate an alumni’s wedding, Willie the Warhawk embodies the sense of community that makes UW-Whitewater special, and he serves as a reminder of what it means to be a part of our Warhawk family — for our students, faculty/staff, and the greater Whitewater community.
