Royal Purple Staff Goodbye: Seth Anderson

My time at the Royal Purple has been fun and I have made friends and had experiences that I am glad I didn’t miss out on.

I came into my Graphics Editor position here at the RP a few years back after spending some time as the staff cartoonist. I have been here longer than anyone but there is a reason I never left – the people. I will try to do the shout-outs chronologically.

Thanks to:Karri for being sociable and practically begging me to work for the RP. Mike Daly abd Abi, for hiring me and running a tight ship.

Evan and Joe, for liking good music. Victoria, for showing me that a turtle eating a balloon is hysterical. Joy, for allowing me to hold the door (Chivalry isn’t dead) and also Torpil. Grant, for finding ways to have fun in your work. Chris, for making it cool to take the RP seriously.

Tom, for being a somber wings fan, a rarity in Detroit. Tim, for rooting for the right team. Gouvion and  Dennis, for being flexible and allowing creative freedom. Andie, for pushing the envelope in page design. Andrew, for never allowing seemingly trivial matters to rest since it’s legit. Kyle for letting us make mistakes and learn from them.

I will be graduating in the spring and have a lot of people to thank for getting me here too. My parents first, you have been noting but supportive. My interest in art can be attributed to my mother. I kept loving art thanks to Mr. Kuepper, Chris Lois, and my best friend Rory.

My professors throughout college have allowed me to have fun with graphic design and encouraged creativity.

Thanks to everyone in the graphics department. To everyone at the Royal Purple past and present, thanks. By the way, the Jerome Bettis was from me.
