Last Monday, The College of Arts and Communication presented the 2011-12 scholarships and awards to 96 students in the first ever department scholarship award ceremony.

Among addresses given by Chancellor Richard Telfer, Ken Kohberger and Anne Mancl, UW-Whitewater graduate Michael J. Cesario presented the keynote address. With a grandiose marching band stage performance as his introduction, Cesario dabbled in the incredible amount of potential in the students sitting in the audience. Known for his invention of the washable band uniform, Cesario urged his listeners to go out and make things happen, just as he did.

Along with Cesario’s spirited speech, all 96 students were recognized during the ceremony.
