Two Whitewater residents are facing reckless homicide charges after a body was found on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater campus in September.

Jeremy Meyer, 36, and Kori Kincaid, 39, are being charged after UW-Whitewater police found the dead body of 34-year-old Joshua Syck in a portable toilet near the intramural athletic fields.

Syck appeared to have an injection mark in his wrist according to a criminal complaint filed by the Walworth County district attorney last week. A syringe was found near Syck’s body and police arrived to the scene to find Syck’s girlfriend holding his body. She told authorities that Syck had previously bought pills from Meyer.

Following an investigation police found that the two had made contact for illegal substances multiple times and often met in Lot 22 of the UW-W campus.

The investigation is ongoing.
