I hope to see people making more sustainable choices when options are available. Single use plastics are causing far more damage than anyone realizes and there are plenty of sustainable options out there for pretty much every form of single use plastic. There are floating patches of garbage in the ocean bigger than some countries and many of the contents are single use plastics. – Senior Environmental Science Major Jessica Bull

In the future I hope to see that the animal populations have a comeback through conservation efforts. I would also hope to see rules or regulations in place to better protect the species that conservationists are working hard to keep alive. Extinction is a big topic lately and something that several people are working to end. Climate change and extinction are important for us to pay attention to as they play a big part in keeping our world alive. – Junior Biology Major Piper Artman

As climate change becomes more prevalent globally, it’s easy to lose hope. Hope, though, is the answer to fighting against these detrimental impacts, and all it takes is effort. I hope for future generations to innovate solutions and develop concrete plans to aid in a sustainable future for our planet. Reducing carbon emissions, preserving biodiversity, and improving air quality are just a few actions that can be implemented by these next generations. – Junior Environmental Science Kate Richmond
