Owner Tyler Salisbery and bartender Andrew Severson love talking about beer.

We asked and you answered. In honor of Oktoberfest, the Royal Purple made some rounds asking three local bars and microbreweries what their favorite and best selling beers are for the fall season.

The Black Sheep: At the quaint, cozy fine dining restaurant owned by UWW alum, Tyler Sailsbery; they are currently updating their fall beer menu! Watch out for it Monday! However, for a cool fall day, Tyler Sailsbery hands-down recommends the beer “Mobcraft: Batshit Crazy”  from the Mobcraft Brewery in Milwaukee owned by his good friend and fellow alum Henry Schwartz. “He’s a great friend of mine. We cooked and dreamed a lot together. Tyler didn’t have any on tap to show off but wasn’t shy about describing his friend’s masterpiece. “It’s a dark and heavy beer with a rich, smooth coffee flavor. Really perfect for the cooler weather.”

Second Salem: At Second Salem Microbrewery owned by UW-W Alum Chris Christon, the best selling beer of the house is their signature beer “Old Main” which their server Randy describes as “smooth with a hint of banana.”  Nolan the bartender however recommends the more tropical “Mango Passionfruit.” However look out for the autumn flavors which include a traditional Oktoberfest Ale and the highly recommended Blood Orange Wild Main.

841 Brewhouse: At 841 Brewhouse, their house Oktoberfest Ale is recommended by owner Jim Burns for the cool fall season. Bartender Hannah Schwanein her senior year at UWW said to also try the Amber ale, but also to watch out for her personal favorite the Midnight Porter coming up for their winter season menu!
